Good Morning friends…There’s been a lot of sadness here on spaces…So I thought I’d try to cheer some of you up…I’ve done a poem /come song, lol…Called Any Old Rags And Bone…It’s not my usual style, but thought I’d give it a go…Hope it’s alright, if not sorry…Just hoping to make some of you smile…Best wishes and much love Lynn xxx

Remembering the sound of hooves on cobbled streets
A sturdy man with reins with treasures near his feet
He bellowed loud and clear whilst sitting on his throne
These words still haunt my mind “Any old rags and bone!”
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
Chorus
Photobucket
Any old rags and bone! Any old rags and bone!
These words he’d cry out loud, I’d hear them in my home
They all rushed to him with bags filled up with ware
I’d look at him transfixed and he’d just sit and stare!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
Ma and Pa would go, right up to his big horse
All mottled up with muck, his mane all tired and coarse
They’d pat him on his back and tell him it’s alright
But when his Master called, he’d fill the roads with sh*te!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
Chorus
Photobucket
Any old rags and bone! Any old rags and bone!
These words he’d cry out loud, I’d hear them in my home
They all rushed to him with bags filled up with ware
I’d look at him transfixed and he’d just sit and stare!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
I never seen no bones, but loads of scruffy clothes
He looked as proud as punch with mismatched stocking toes
He would smile at me with teeth all made of gold
Then he would shout them words, what made my blood run cold!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
Chorus
Photobucket
Any old rags and bone! Any old rags and bone!
These words he’d cry out loud, I’d hear them in my home
They all rushed to him with bags filled up with ware
I’d look at him transfixed and he’d just sit and stare!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
 Photobucket
Alas one day he died, whilst eating fish and chips
He never stood a chance as down his throat it slipped
At last he got his wish and he’s not up there alone
A cart what’s full of rags, and in his throat, he’s got his BONE!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket
Chorus
Photobucket
Any old rags and bone! Any old rags and bone!
These words he’d cry out loud, I’d hear them in my home
They all rushed to him with bags filled up with ware
I’d look at him transfixed, AND HE’D JUST SIT AND STARE!

Hehehe.  Like this Lynn.  Nice memories.  We still occasionally have a rag and bone man round here, usually on a sunday morning.  I could do with an alarm like him.  Hey now that’s an idea!  xx

I forgot to say, I love the duo, steptoe and son.  Brought back nice memories for me.  Whenever I think my house still isn’t clean enough, I just think back to how they lived and feel blessed! hahaha x

    Heya lynn  :)
name’s chris if you were wondering lol..
well your space blows mine clear into the weeds, it’s fantastic,
a poet and a photographer, great combo you two are.
if you knew max you’d soon change your mind about her….
( we thought she was a he until she laid eggs last year haha) she’s just like having a moody three year old in the house all the time, richard’s the only one she’ll get along with, anyone else she’ll try and bite,
mainly because her old owner mistreated her so i can apreciate her being on guard all the time. i’ll stop now because i can go on forever about that bird lol

well the poem gave me a good laugh, i write my own sometimes but a lot of them
    are rather sad though.

hope you and Kes are having a great day
