The Old Apple Tree

Hello dear friends, another week soon begins and with that another poem starts…Sometimes I think of way back when I was small and remember with great fondness an old apple tree which laid in my backyard…I used to climb into it’s branches and feel protected and away from all harm…So meet…The Old Apple Tree…Have a wonderful day and build yourself beautiful memories…Much love always…Enjoy…Lynn xxxx

I remember the old tree with apples galore
Which lived in our garden right near the back door
His branches were twisty with all sorts of knots
With fruit to feed many, from a time once forgot!
Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket
He looked really posh with his head in the air
And he was my friend and long hours we did share
Up high in his branches where birds sometimes flew
In a make believe kingdom where dreams did come true!
Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket
When needing escape from the trivia’s of school
I’d climb high in his branches and wept like a fool
I’d tell him my downfalls and he’d lend me his ear
Then he’d rock me so gently, and away went all fear!
Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket
The old house we lived in was too old for repair
Then an order was served, to evict us from there
In the garden of my childhood where things came to pass
Mere mortal and nature, and a fondness to last!
Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket
So I’ll remember the old tree with apples galore
Whom lived in our garden right near a back door
There was more to the old tree than apples or wood
His branches held comfort, and his heart had much LOVE!

    Hello Lynn
This is a stunning poem, beautifully illustrated and quite evocative.
God knows I was needing balm for my soul today and I do believe that your poem is it!
So thank you very much dear Lynn.

p.s.  The old tree of yore from my childhood days stood regally at the front of our house, and was much loved by at least three generations of my family.
It was a rowan tree (its still there to this day) minus some lower limbs it has to be said.
But sadly I was never to sit on even its lowest branch, as i am terrified of heights!
I hope you have a good week ahead lynn -love to you

A beautiful poem Lynn…. You have a wonderful way of making nature come alive through your poems.  The story of your times spent in the arms of your beloved apple tree brought back memories for me.  We lived next door to an apple orchard and were allowed by our neighbours to play amongst the trees where a swing and a tyre dangled from apple trees.  Halcyon days and such a warmth of those times are in my heart.  Thanks flower. x

Dear Lynn, i love your poem on the apple tree and memories. it is
beautiful…like you :))) Thank you for simply being, my friend with
    affection.

Today, as Yesterday, and as Tomorrow, I spent at the beach.
To watch the sunset from a row boat in the calm, still bay; to feel the
orange wind rushing past your cheeks as the last rays dip below the
horizon; to have jelly fish, yellow and flowing floating around you as
you drift in the currents; to sit on the shore, skin drinking in sounds
of waves caressing rounded pebbles, surrounding them, embracing them,
carrying them, then withdrawing from them, leaving them alone and dry,
only to sweep them away once more; to see Mars set below the distant
shores and feel the wonder and oneness of the ancients, whose lives
where shaped by the movements of heavenly bodies across the face of the
sky and not by the movements of hands across a watch face; to be in a
place you have been coming to all your life, the place where your mind
goes when you close your eyes; to have that place close and be able to
    be there whenever you want;
    is Heaven.

      Heaven.
I was there yesterday, I went back today, and I’ll be there tomorrow,
    d

    Heya hunni  :)

woohoo i can get on here today lol,
worth the wait though to see the poem though, it’s lovely, shame about the sad ending
about having to move away though :(
we had a pair of apple trees in our garden, our road used to be an orchard years ago, oddly enough my granddad was involved in building the houses in that road :)
most of the fruit was naff though, the trees were old and slowly dying.
hope you have a great week hun

he had a huge impact on my life while he was here and i think of him often
even if it is 10 years now.
i’m not a fan of abortion. there are circumstances where it’s permissable but not as a quick
fix for a one night stand. You make the mistake of not having safe sex, that’s the consequence so get used to the idea of being a mum.
anyway’s i’m off to enjoy my garden. hope you have a great day

     Hay dos modos de conciencia:
     una es luz,y otra,paciencia.
     Una estriba en alumbrar
     un poquito el hondo mar;
     otra,en hacer penitencia
     con caña o red,y esperar
     el pez,como pescador.
     Dime tú:¿Cual es mejor?
     ¿Conciencia de visionario
que mira en el hondo acuario
     peces vivos,
     fugitivos,
     que no se pueden pescar
     o esa maldita faena
de ir arrojando a la arena,
     muertos,los peces del mar

        Antonio Machado

Una semana más os traigo un poema y un saludo,no quiero que me olvidéis siempre querré estar en vuestros corazones como vosotros estáis en el mio,un abrazo Carmina
