A Reason To Celebrate

Merry Christmas each…I hope you all have a reason to celebrate so on this occasion I’d like to share with you one of my old poems named…A Reason To Celebrate…Thinking of you, much love always…xxx Lynn xxx

A Reason To Celebrate

How often have you trimmed the tree
When children are still dreaming?
And played the part of Santa Claus
Whilst all the stars are gleaming?
How many presents have you wrapped
Or stockings have you hung?
Or listened to the words of praise
From the Carols which have been sung?

Have you ever felt the Earth be moved
 When watching children play?
And felt so happy for the love
You’ve shared each Christmas day?
How many times have you felt anguish
For others with naught each year?
Then gone to bed with laden heart
With pillow soaked through by each tear?

How often have you passed someone
And wanted to give them a hug?
And thought how sad this life is now
As we cannot show all of our love?
Have you ever thanked the Lord above
For giving you food on your plate?
Lets share this time to bring back the love
Giving us reason to CELEBRATE!

A wonderful poem, yet again, tinged with sadness for less fortunate souls. So well said, and so true.

Lynn, my dear, there is a reason I have dubbed you the ‘worlds greatest poet’.  As I was reading your poem, I could just see myself be that Santa Claus for my 4 children in their younger years.  Many a Christmas eve I was the one waiting for Santa to pull up on the roof.  Yes, so often I enjoy bringing a smile or a laugh to someone I don’t know but needs one.  As I read the comments below I am reminded  of the legions of people who love and care for you.  I am surely one of them.

Much love form over the pond.  (now I must read your sis’s poem)     Steve xx

Hi Lynn, Your poems are always just lovely. you have started to put me in the mood for Xmas. I must start some shopping now and put the Christmas lay-buys on and I always buy one gift for a child and give it to charity every year. I hate to think any one is going without a gift. I agree with what you wrote I always love watching the children play on Christmas day. Hugs Lady Jude
